Organic waste comes from the remains of living things, while inorganic waste comes from processed mining materials or synthetic products. In Indonesia, the amount of organic waste produced is greater than inorganic waste. Accumulated organic waste tends to burn more easily when exposed to heat. One way to manage and reduce the accumulation of organic waste is to process it into compost or biogas. The aerobic composting process requires oxygen, good porosity, and sufficient moisture to maintain the stability of the waste material.
